My story is one rooted in community. With years of service, leadership experience, and deep ties to Innisfail, I am dedicated to representing the people who call this town home. My values — accountability, collaboration, and progress — shape my work on council and in my everyday life.

Born and raised in Calgary, my husband Al and I moved our family to Innisfail in 1992. We are proud residents of central Alberta and all it has to offer. We have children and grandchildren close by. Simply put, Innisfail is our home.
I finished off my working career as the Director, Community Relations at Red Deer College, retiring in June 2020. In the past, Al and I owned and operated a mobile mechanical company, serving businesses and farmers in Innisfail and the surrounding region. Al was the mechanic . . . I stayed far away from the tools and equipment! We did, however, appreciate and enjoy the opportunities we had to promote our business locally – and to promote our community through regional, provincial and national events.

Many years of working in the voluntary sector, and ultimately the very large post-secondary sector at the now Red Deer Polytechnic has led me here. A strong advocate and supporter of community, citizens, and volunteers. I have participated in – and led – initiatives over the years that built capacity within the central Alberta region and provided spaces and places for residents and visitors to convene and meet.
I understand the indicators that point to a healthy community, as well as those that raise flags around concerns and issues. A community is comprised of many sectors such as arts and culture, housing, work/employment, education, safety, health, environment, human support services – strong leadership strives to ensure each sector serves itself and others to create a strong “fabric” that is vital and resilient.
Volunteerism has always been one of my core values – I began volunteering as a teenager in high school. I have served as Director and Chair of the Red Deer Polytechnic Board of Governors, as well as participated in various roles at other organizations. I am a Past President of Westerner Park. Currently, in Innisfail, I sit on the Innisfail Pride Society and the Innisfail Health Centre Fundraising Committee. Regionally, I am a founding member of the Central Alberta Breakfast Club.
